At 7:37 pm, a Norman Police Department Records Clerk notified dispatch that a man was laying on the steps on the west side of the police department. He was bleeding and unresponsive. EMSStat responded but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
He had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. There is no reason to believe that anyone in the police department was in danger. Investigators are working on positively identifying the subject. Once notifications are made, we will release the name.
