Prevention Tips

  1. Be aware of what is going on around you and report any suspicious activity to the police as soon as possible.
  2. When leaving you home make sure all doors and window and closed and locked (it is a good idea to keep your doors and window locked while at home also).
  3. If you have an alarm system make sure you set it when leaving your home or car.
  4. While driving keep the doors on your car locked.
  5. While away from home park and walk in well-lighted areas, do not park or walk in dark isolated areas.
  6. When you get out of your car always take your keys, always lock your car, and try not to leave items lying in plain sight in your car.
  7. Never leave young children alone in the car or at home.
  8. Do not have your social security number as your driver’s license number.
  9. Do not throw bank statements or other items with personal information on them out without shredding them first.
  10. Closely monitor children’s activity on the Internet; they easily become victims of various predators.
  11. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT, NEVER DRIVE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT, AND BE AWARE OF THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD.
