Water Meters

The City of Norman has over 31,105 water meters in service. The most common meter is the 3/4 x 5/8 displacement meter. This unit provides approximately 20 to 25 gallons of water per minute.

Volume of water is measured by a rotating chamber. If the meter becomes worn, the register will show less water than is actually being delivered.
