Residential Collection

Automated Trash Collection

The City of Norman Sanitation Division would like to take this opportunity to familiarize you about the automated collection system.

Each cart has a serial number that is assigned to each address for residential use. If or when a resident moves to another location, the cart shall remain at the resident’s address that it is assigned to.

Loading Your Cart

All household trash must be placed in the cart. Lift the hinged lid from the front (opposite the handles) to load your waste. Be sure to close the lid to prevent windblown debris or the entry of rainwater.

Do not put the following in the cart: yardwaste, rocks, concrete, dirt, hot ashes, coals, paints, flammable liquids and other hazardous waste.

Placement of the Cart

The cart must be rolled to the curb or alley for collection no later than 7:30 am on the day of collection.

Roll the cart to within 2 feet of the curb or alley and face the handles away from the street or alley.

Leave at least 3 to 4 feet clearance on all sides.

Please keep carts away from parked vehicles, mailboxes, trees and shrubs.

All trash must be placed inside the polycart. Trash placed outside the polycart will not be picked up.

Polycarts may be placed at the curbside no earlier then 12:00 p.m. the day prior to collection and must be removed from the curbside no later then 12:00 p.m. the day following collection.

Other than collection times, the polycart shall be placed house side, not left at the curb.

Additional Polycarts

Additional polycarts may be provided for an additional charge.

Bulky Items

Bulky items may be picked up for an additional charge. Call the Sanitation Division at (405)-329-1023 to schedule a pick-up.
