2010 Bond Election - March 2, 2010

On March 2, 2010, Norman voters approved two separate propositions regarding a street maintenance project and an Outdoor Emergency Warning System. 

 

The Cleveland County Election Board’s unofficial results were:

 

Proposition for Street Maintenance

For the proposition               8,170

Against the proposition         4,454

 

Proposition for Outdoor Warning System

For the proposition               7,814

Against the proposition         4,776

 

The first proposal will issue $15 million in bonds to fund resurfacing and rehabilitation of Norman streets and $4 million to fund reconstruction of Norman streets.

 

The second proposal is for an Outdoor Warning System estimated to cost $2,250,000 which will include the purchase of 60 new sirens to cover the entire City limits, modifications to and relocation of 17 existing sirens, and site acquisition and right of way costs.
